I said it.
Not a fan. Lol.
Crazy the prices i see on lps euphyllia corals these days. Vendors and coral farmers had a hard time selling me that stuff when it was $20 for a head of super bright green torch. Now i dont think u could give it to me. Even with the high re sale value on it. Lol!

Takes up space. Not super pretty imo. The flow is kool i guess but i can get that with a softy.
Hammers eh. Frogspawn is probaby the most intresting to me but its just like the hammers and torches! Lol.
Green. Purple. Gold yellow. Or occasionally i see pink. No rainbow. Now real growth to watch or be amazed at. It takes awhile for them to actually form a ball colony or group.
Idk i just dont see the value. Anyone else?

I think you could say that about any coral. Some people love acans and some love acros and some love mushrooms or zoas and some people don’t.

I always thought they grew at a good pace. Invest in what thrives. The best looking corals are happy ones.

They are generally safe with coral nippers too which is great.

Fish come first for me. I think most people are opposite.

I guess beauty is in the eyes of its beholder. I used to not like euphyllia and then boom I started with one and now I can’t stop looking for more. Regarding prices, I must be lucky since I have a dealer that sells them real cheap. Obviously these arent the designer high end euphyllias but still affordable. Price wise they are roughly close to low end acro and monti frags.

Absolutely beautiful.

Wall hammers.can be kool but.finicky imo and prone to the dreaded brown jelly.

In my experience, it really depends. As most of my corals are delivered as I would buy them online there is a higher chance of the euphyllia to either die or deteriorate during transit. They just don’t ship well. Thankfully my dealer will either replace or refund DOAs. As for BJD thankfully I have yet to have an outbreak. For me the euphyllia that I find is the most finicky are frogspawns. They are hardest to please. I think with euphyllias getting the right flow is the key. Torches and hammers are a lil easier to get the right flow in my experience.

Those sweeper tentacles though! Am I right? Softies don't zap their neighbors. It's like Marvel vs the Muppets.

i guess you've never watched a mushroom encroach on other corals.... softys can def sting and kill other corals, especially SPS

I did not know that actually. I have these enormous mushrooms that are trying to smother my zoas but I did not know that they stung. Thanks. I learned something new today!
I am learning so much about coral behavior this week. My Anthelias got stung by a Torch and (even though I moved it) it has started shedding polyps to create new colonies all over my tank. It's like sending superman babies out from Krypton to ensure the survival of the species on new rocks. Everywhere I look, I am finding more. It's kind of freaking me out.
