Hello

I was performing a water change today and because I was rushing I forgot to rinse the new carbon I just added in my reactor and did not realize until it had already been running for a few minutes. I use brs Rox 8 activated carbon. I figured it was too late to do anything about it so I let it continue running. Should I expect problems? Has anybody done this before? What issues did you run into?
thanks in advance...

You should be fine. IME; Rox 0.8 contains very little dust.

That’s my experience with ROX. I got som TLF and it took several minutes before the water ran clear-ish.

I'll be honest, the ROX from BRS runs completely clear within 5-10 seconds. There's not much in it -- But id do a water change myself.

I wouldn't worry about it this once. Continual exposure to carbon dust has been leaked to HLLE, but that's over an extended period of time, but this instance wouldn't cause that. There will be no other negative impacts.

Brs rox 0.8 has so little dust in it that I don't even bother to rinse it anymore; just plug and play. Hasn't seemed to cause any issues at all.

Likewise, I run the line from my reactor to a 5 gallon bucket after changing the BRS Rox 0.8 and I barely see any darker water. I only rinse for a few seconds. I really don't think it has much dust at all.

That's what I had been doing. Since I could barely see anything in the bucket water, I was dumping it back into the filter sock anyway...,
