Put 2'x4' the lengths of the tank under rim than run a full one under those and the ones you have there with legs to the base. that way the weight is distributed equally.

I was thinking 1/4 or 1/2 inch if it could work. I want the rim to still be hidden if possible, plus the light rack is in a fixed position above the tank at the height i wanted it.

1/4 would do nothing. I expect 1/2 would work. It looks to be about 8 inches between the 2x4s. 1/2 should span that OK.

@will0wtr33 Looks good to me if the front and sides are supported. Board [sheet] under the tank spanning front to back might help you sleep at night, but seems unnecessary in my unprofessional opinion (one more thing to get wet).

I would just use pieces of 2x4 screwed in between the runners that go front to back under the back rim of the tank. That will support the whole rim. If you want to make it even smoother you could put 1/4 inch ply over the 2x4 support.

Your tank corners are on the frame.
Even if you don’t put a ply sheet under you will be fine. But putting in a 2x4 right under the edge will be just much much better.
Putting a 1/2 will be great for support.

I agree with xaflatoonx that it'll be fine as is though, as long as it's making good contact with all 4 of the 2x4s it's currently setting on.

Oh! I thought we were talking about a much larger tank here. With that many 2x4's I was thinking a 4 foot tank with some picture distortion and was a little concerned about no center support. For a 20g long you're fine I would say.

Why not build a spacer for the light rack attachment? Then the tank can sit where it was meant to sit. Unless I'm misunderstanding the problem.
