My lfs said it would be fine in our tank, kinda talked us into getting it, now I'm reading that it may not even be reef safe?

I’ve had a valentini as well. Peaceful little dude. Ended up being best friends with my foxface. Make sure you feed him things with shells. Mysis. Clam on the half shell, etc. they’re like rodents insofar as they have fused teeth on the top and bottom that never stop growing. So unless you are feeding foods to help wear those chompers down, they’ll eventually grow to the point where the fish can’t open it’s mouth and will starve

Fun fish, lots of personality. My dogface puffer ate about 100 zoa heads his first day in the tank. Takes out anything that has a fluffy polyp

dogface puffers are a different beast than a valentini. Awesome fish as well, but your valentini Shouldn’t (key word: shouldn’t) be as anti-zoa lol. I was always told Valentinis tend to be more nibbly with sps. But as with anything when it comes to living things, YMMV

Thanks for the good info! I have a 32 biocube only have lps an softies for now because I still have the stock lights so fingers crossed he is a good boy
