So I have a Nuvo 40 right now and I finally got the fever to upgrade the tank however i came to you guys to hear some opinions! Being a teacher and all I have off for the next few month so I got time!! Here are my thoughts:
1) Radions x30
2) a little 12 gallon frag tank
3) sump
Someone help me out with what they are thinking or what they would do. Remember my tank is an AIO.

Your tank is an AIO... you don't need a sump. Put some inTank media baskets in the back. Do a google search for inTank. He makes some good stuff. I'd definetly upgrade lighting. Has your tank cycled? How old is it? What fish do you plan on keeping? Coral??

In my signature is my tank build. It has been up for about a year and a half, i have zoas, sps, lps. I have media baskets i have the ATO. I just want more out of my all in one.

Sump it. its the hardest thing to do. And would be the most fun and frustrating thing to do.

That's what I like to hear!!! Figuring out the return pump and how I want to run the drain will be the issue

Can you have a tank in your class? Perhaps you could get a bigger, used system off Craigslist and put the IM40 into your classroom?

Personally, I dont think I could trust my students when im not in the room with something thats thousands of dollars unfortunately!

Radions are expensive! But if you can afford them, do it! From what I understand it will most def take your tank to the next level, and it's pretty easy to change out a light.
If you have a Nuvo 40, I wouldn't worry about a Sump, unless you really need the extra space for something. I put a Sump on mine to increase the TWV to get more of a grasp on parameters.

I just want to change things around my tank i think im going to do Radions but idk if I want the xr15 or xr30

I would sump it or turn it into a decorative sump if that would be easier. There are plenty of ways to make a sump functional and beautiful.Having a place to grow macro algae is a must in my humble opinion.
