what do you think ?

Nice! Grats. It will hold it's colour, I got something similar from them a few months back Aussie hycanthis. It's turned into one of my favorite pieces although mine doesn't have those nice blue tips!

in the description it said it was pink/red with violet. Im hoping it will be the violet and not blue but either way its a great color combo. It should be here friday. Im crazy excited about it.

That's awesome, I have been eying that piece everytime I check their diver's den out, I'm sure it will turn out really nice. Grats!

SO YOU BOUGHT IT!!

I was plotting to buy it and as soon as I set my mind to it, I clicked refresh and it was gone.

It looks amazing, hopefully it holds its color for you! The purple base color is what really set it apart from other red acros in my mind.

My pic is what it really looks like. Even with just actinics it doesnt even look close to the color in their pic.

In my experience with orders from them, the corals never look the same as what they post, but I think their pictures are taken under HEAVY actinics of some sort.

However, I still REALLY like that acropora, pink coloration is just as sweet as red imo.

Also, the base of the colony in your picture looks a lot cooler than what I saw when it was up for sale. Could you post a picture of the base?

I cracked up the saturation and now it looks a lot moore like the DD pic

the base does look cool I just didnt think they misrepresented thier corals that bad.

Like jimk... said, give it some time and it might show you the colors you want to see. I forgot to consider the fact that it is really new in your tank in my last post.

I was able to visit the Divers Den Aquaculture facility back in 2007. The only lighting they used were double ended 400W PFO pendandts on light rails. The color could have browned out slightly due to shipping... but the difference in color is pretty dramatic. I would say a combination of saturation and browning from shipping.

Note on liveaquaria webiste:

Photo Lighting Note: To provide ideal color & lighting for these species, these are
photographed from above, illuminated under 20K 400 Watt Metal Halide lighting.
The coloration of the animal will vary under different intensities and Kelvin
ratings of light bulbs. The species shown may look different under 10K Metal
Halides, VHO, T5 or Power Compact Lights, and may take time to recover its color
after shipping.

All my pics are taken under 2 ATi blue + and 2 ATi aqublue special 12K

I have ordered SPS online many times and know acros can lose color in shipping this looks more like a doctored pic than just stress. I am all for doctoring a pic to make it look more like the coral but this is not what I beleave happened. Its a nice coral and Im sure it will color up more. But I doubt it will ever look like the pic or get the purple base I ordered it for.
