I have a 5" maxima clam questions on lighting

I traded for this guy. Cleaned him all up inspected him for snails then burped him before i placed him. I have an 8 bulb 24" t5 setup with 6 blues and 2 whites. Its sitting on the top of the tank approximately 4 inches above the water. How many inches from the top should the maxima be placed? Thanks guys on the advice.

Removed all trapped air from inside the clam....

Gotcha. So you just move it around under water to release trapped air? Wouldn't it close up the moment you touched it preventing you from burping it?

Yeah but its not water or air tight. The bubbles will just come out. Rotate around on all axis.
