I would just manually remove it.

Yeah I would have to agree with this approach; with a tank that size and a patch that small it is not worth dosing chemicals into the tank. Turn off all pumps and Powerheads like when doing a water change and manually remove with tweezers and a small siphon should do the trick. Whatever residual you can't get should be taken care of with your CUC if it is sufficient,
