I have a problem, goby and jawfish compatibility question

I bought a blue spot jawfish from LA Diver's den about 6 weeks ago. He's been in QT since then and he is ready for the primetime.

My plan was to put him in my 220 fowler to add some color, well my fuzzy dwarf lion spoiled that. He was showing too much interest in him and started "hunting" him back into a corner until I intervened. Thankfully the jawfish was easy to catch and now he's back in QT.

My other tank is a 34 gallon reef. There are a couple clowns, firefish, blenny in there. There is also a bonded tiger shrimp/blue spot goby pair. Can the goby and jawfish get along? It wasn't my plan, but if it can work I don't care.

that´s the same fish though.... anyway, they can be kept with multiple in a tank but same species goby can become quite aggressive towards each other.

ah thats a sleeper blue dot goby, yeah you should be fine mixing those, as long as they can make their own caves

What about the pistol shrimp?

I wouldn't worry about the shrimp, he already has his cave and the other goby is just looking out for him, the jawfish will make his own cave and stay there most of the time, the chance of a clash of the clans is pretty low I'd say.

I have a pink spot/shrimp pair and want to add a blue spot jaw fish. Been hesitant but would like to know how this works for you

I think I'll probably try it. The shrimp and goby have quite the tunnel network. I'd hate to have the shrimp harass or kill the jawfish. I still think that the shrimp killed one of my firefish!

Did you end up giving this a go? I have a Randall’s Goby, and am nervous about getting a Blue Dot Jawfish.

My jawfish made his condo (that's what we call it, lol) in the right front corner. The shrimp stay in the rear left corner so all is well for now. The jawfish makes me laugh all the time. He's so silly and has a lot of personality.
