Im new to the reef world i have a 20 gal tank with zoas i have a 150 watt medal hylide light but my zoas dont show much color the looked alot nicer at the fish store ... Any suggestions . People say to add blue led strip
 
water parameters can have a lot to do with color. whats your nitrates and phosphates?
 
What brand of bulb and ballast? You can buy different color spectrum bulbs to fit your color taste.

For example i had an alien eye chalice and when i put it in my tanj it looked white but when i took it back to the store it showed purple and red in there tank under there lights

You could add more blue spectrum by adding leds or actinic fluorescent bulbs like t5s. If that's not possible then you could change to a bluer MH bulb like the Phoenix.
 
How much are those just paid 60 for this one like a week ago its some german company

I think the best color comes from the 20k radiums. Maybe you could get a actinic blue t5 and supplement what you have now. The blue really helps makes colors pop.
