...that I'm in trouble. Can someone tell me what this very evasive polyp, plant, THING, is that is taking over? And more importantly how do I get rid of it. They appear to create little calcium tunnels that they grow out of and the polyps are a little bit bigger then a pin head. I'm expecting the worse, that I'll have to remove all of the rock and clean and cure it. That that will be the only way to irradicate it from my tank. Since it's everywhere, I'd be essentially starting over. Everything I have tried has failed to keep them in check.

Thank you, Robert

@Robert's Reef all corals are cnidarians which are defined by the fact that they have polyps with stinging cells so in that sense all corals technically carry toxins. But to have fish die that fast is pretty insane. If possible just remove the rock and maybe run activated charcoal if you have it to help remove the toxins (or so a water change or something). I'm sorry about your fish though

Blue clove polyps 100%
Spread like crazy but don't sting other corals .
They just try to grow over them
I had them all other my tank and killed them off by adding panacur dog wormer, not a single Polly left in my tank

Can you please provide me more details? I'm very interested. What sort of tank do you have? Thank you, Robert

Hi
Iv a red sea 350 mixed reef
I had blue clove spreading all over plus pulsating and green star that I wanted gone aswell
Panacur wiped the lot out with no I'll effects to anything else in my tank ...even clams
There a thread on the use of it
I'm no good at posting links so I'll call you into the other thread so you can have a good read about it
The pics below are from today , I used it about 2 month ago can't remember for sure but as you can see nothings wrong with anything in my tank

Your tank is beautiful. I think the thread is already attached in the first reply. Thank you for your response. I'm looking forward to treating it. Robrt

I just bought some Blue clove polyps. So I should remove them? I read that they are the slower grower.

Depends on you, I did like the look of mine but they started to appear all over my tank
And when they started to grow on the base of a few SPS .... Enough was enough lol

That's my worry. Maybe I just pull them now. I have a vertical ledge they would look nice on but I dont want them alllll over the tank. I guess theses ones are slower grower then the Zena.

Also mine are called
Blue Sympodium

IS that the same?

I found this: blue clove polyps very intrusive IME. Grows like a weed. The blue Sympodium is different.

The ones you have are different from the ones I had so may well not spread as bad .
Found a couple of pic from the net of the ones that I had

Blue sympodium is a slower grower.

Hello everyone, and thank you for responding. I ended up using fenbendazole. 1 22.2% tablet disolved in 1 gal of tank water and added to 100gal system. I ended up waiting 120 hours before doing a major water change. It did work. My tank wasn't affected that much as there wasn't many corals in it to begin with. But the leathers did take a hit, and some other cloves. My one SPS was unscathed.

'll be monitoring the results and will post anything that happens out of the ordinary. But even after the one wc and re-starting the carbon, gfo and PS, the take is noticeably healthier.

thanks again, Robert

looks like Anthelia glauca - clove polyps that big would take tons of time to grow

They are re-appearing. So in my experience, this treatment failed. They're starting to pop-up in all of their old locations. I'm going to see if I can get a hold on them by putting coral epoxy on them.

Maybe try a second dose?

How does the medication effect pods and micro fauna ?
