Today I saw some tiny creatures behind a powerhead on the glass and in my search ID'd them as isopods. Also saw some aceol flatworms. I found the above article and it said to look with a flashlight a couple hours after lights out and sure enough I see them on the sand and skittering across the rocks. Not a ton of them but I found them pretty quickly. I can't see any on the fish with the lights off or on. According to the article there are several that are benign or even beneficial but there are some that are dangerous parasites. How concerned should I be? I think they are the harmless kind so at this point I'm just concerned enough to pose the question. If I wasn't so fascinated with the copepods I have and looking at them with a magnifying glass I would have never known I had them. I am planning to get a mandarin but was waiting till I was sure I had a strong enough copepod population to support one. They eat isopods right?
Bonus, I'm pretty sure I saw an amphipod and I wanted them in the tank. I have a pic of the isopods but its not that good.
