Very small to even really get a good guess in. If i had to take my first shot at it I would guess A. carduus.
Corals of the World Factsheet and images - Acropora carduus

The person I got this from gets a lot of carduus and the structure of this is so much more thick and knobby, I would probably rule that out-dunno

That piece is about 3.5" x 3" its not a small frag (I think I was wrong, its a 3" disc its on not 2) I was guessing in the loripes area but the "branches" are just so thick they are about 1/2" round knobs.
Its like a morph of loripes meets granulosa

Cant wait to see what colors show

Thanks for posting!

It's hard to say because it's so small. It could be either loripes or granulosa, but slim chance it's a hybrid. Corals can hybridize but it is a very rare event and you just don't see that in the aquarium hobby.

Do you have any pics of the mother colony? Do you know if it tables, or grows in a cluster, bottlebrush maybe?

I wish I did as that would help out tremendously-I'll just see what develops

Thanks for chiming in!
