Hey yall looks like I have a hitch-hiker. Not sure if I need to be concerned or not. Didn't notice it when I got my toadstool, but it has gotten longer since I noticed it. Any thoughts? Tiny purple tube coming from the bottom of my toadstool frag. I thought at first that it might have been the adhesive they used to frag but my toad stool has been in my tank for at least 3 months now. Any input is helpful!

Sounds like a vermetid snail but pics will allow us to confirm.

Looks like a vermetid snail to me.

Vermetid. Just pop it off with some tweezers or whatever. Make sure you get the base, that's where the worm will be hiding. Or just crush it.

Will it Reek havoc on my tank? Or just a small pest?

What they do is cast a little web out which is how they catch food. This “web” can really irritate your corals. I don’t consider them dangerous or a huge issue personally, but some do.

vermetid snail, best advice is get rid as soon as possible, various methods from scrubbing, snapping, glueing and as above crushing, very common, I also got mine on a mushroom frag

They spread like crazy when I introduced them to my tank unknowingly. I would definatly superglue over it and hope it's the only one. The harm that I have seen them cause is irritating the soft flesh on some of my LPS and poking my fingers when I pick up a rock that has them on it.
