I got home from work and found copepods all over the tank walls!
For background, I have an RS 350 that I have had running for a a little over a month now. Sadly, a brook/velvet outbreak took the first two inhabitants in the tank so I am letting it sit fallow for a while. Lessons learned.
But seeing those tiny little things on the walls made my day! I found a great deal on an IM 40 fusion that I am in the process of setting up parallel to this tank to tide me over in the meantime.

Literally think the same thing just happened to me! Haven’t added pods so It was a very good surprise!

Same here! Just threw some second hand live rock in there expecting to have to “push” everything along. But these little guys just popped up!

I definitely understand on it making your day! One piece of live rock and 30 pounds of live sand was it for me!

Most likely amthipods as they are hardiest and more likely to take over a system

It’s a good sign. Tank is healthy. :)
