theres tons of info on green bubble but all I hear is how much of a nightmare the red is. Does vibrant touch it? Removal? Please help.

I have always manually removed it or had a red mithrax that did well. Do not manually remove in the tank, take rock out. then spray down with h2o2. However, I have not tried vibrant on this type of algae. So, not sure. I found red a lot harder to rid than the green, but it was only ever in my nano tanks.

How lucky you caught it new, at three plasts not fifty, rare~

Agreed above

It's a nice botrycladia that collectors of macros w like, but a typical reef they're a risk. Lift out rock no matter what it takes

Chip that tiny section of rock anchor point off using a flathead and put rock back

Darn nice pic look at them little botry's waiting to float off and detach on the surface of the bubble

dang it’s a large base rock at the bottom of a pillar. Thanks

Murphy never allowed it any other way ha!

Truly you could dislodge it underwater creatively, I don't think it's horrible if it pops at least you'll get the mass. The fact you are seeking early action is the only habit missed in any tank full scale invasion. Heck, with a medicine plastic bottle inverted over it like a Lincoln hat, and a tiny hole in the base which would be aiming up, you could inject peroxide into that and hold into place longtime

Total melt no chip

Guaranteed it'll work.

You'd have the easiest capture trick burn off that whole thread.

Well I did end up pulling it and of course the rock ended up being much larger than expected. I did find two more small clusters but they are all chipped and removed. Fingers crossed that that’s all there was! And a bonus is that I think the scape looks much better now. Thanks for the help! I’ll update of it worked or not.
