I have to start over my nano tank. It is crashing. Everything was going fine until a view months ago. I made some big changes. New light. Deep sand bed. With the wrong size zand. Running no skimmer.
You can see on the pictures how the tank was before and now.
This morning I looked at my corals and I did see some fluffy stuff on the alveopora that was just fine yesterday. Let's see if I can blow it of I thought. To my horror I blew out a brown dust of dissolved polyps which blew all around my tank. It was a bacterial infection of the coral I found out later.
Buttons are letting loose. Acans wont open for weeks. New goginian never opend.
Hammer xenia and surprisingly goniopora are OK. Fish, the starfish and sexy shrimps are doing fine too.
So I removed 3/4 of the sand bed and boy wat a mess was in there. Brown water with a haze of white cloudiness.
I blew of. The rocks. Removed the sick coral did a big water change and installed a resun nano skimmer and an extra internal filter filled with carbon.
Saturday I will start fresh. I am thinking of tossing the sick corals by then. If. They did not improve. Clean the rocks. Clean and wash the remaining sand. Permanently running a skimmer and carbon also.
Sad day

Do a nice water change and add some carbon and test accordingly
