I am fairly new to the hobby. I am installing a reactor in my sump and was wondering if I am allowed to add two different types of media to the same tube. Was wanting to add activated carbon and phosphate. Please help.

Yes you can. I have the TLF 550 Phosban reactor and run a mix of carbon and Phosguard in it.

Ok my next question. What is a good rule of thumb on changing out media. How often

Wondering too, wants a good rule of thumb? I'm running carbon and gfo together. Used to run separate, but combined to see what the outcome was and so far am happy. Carbon, I changed every 30 days, but GFO I didnt change as often, as long as phosphate levels where 0 on my hanna. If it went up then I changed. But it looks like combined I will be changing out every 30 days with the combo.
