I increased the lighting too fast

Hey guys so I totally ****** up and my corals hate me and at this point it’s a revue mission.
I noticed my brother idk since when had changed the settings in my light and when I put them where they should be, everyone got super mad and corals are really angry and not opening. Please help

whats the symptoms of the corals, are they just closed, is tissue falling off, are they bleached?

Stop the damage by turning the lights down by 50-75%. Corals can survive low light, but excessive high light can be fatal.

Once you've done that, pictures and descriptions of how the corals are will help give us ideas on what to recommend.

the hammers have some black worm looking stuff and are completely deflated

according to google, they are spilling its insides out

Okay here are the pics with the decreased levels. My meteor cyphrastrea? Is that how you spell it? Is losing its body and my hammers are so deflated and spilling guts out. I hope this helps them. I don’t want to move them to harm them more

Sounds like the torch is expelling zooxanthellae in response to the lights being cranked up. Turn them back down to where you had them and only increase by a few % a week.

I don’t know what my brother changed it to before I increased it but I’ve decreased it all by a lot to the previous pic levels. Fingers crossed my **** up don’t hurt them more

They may be upset for a few days. Sunburned to low light. Give them time to readjust.

I really hope they do. My torch is starting to look black in some places.

Once things are looking better ai has a nice acclimation setting to *slowly* bring your light where you want it.

You can lower lights as fast as you want, its only raising them that you need to be careful and slow.

Less is more with led lights.
