I've been battling a relatively minor Dino outbreak. Once a week, I vacuum the Dinos out which also pulls out some sand. I treat the sand with Clorox to kill everything.

Before I put the cleansed sand back in the tank, I rinse it for an hour to get the Clorox out. My questions is, how long should I let the sand sit after I've rinsed it to ensure all the chlorine is adequately dissipated? I'm thinking a week...

I think your creating more problems by killing all the good bacteria in the sand.

I thought about that, but I'm probably only removing and cleaning about 1-2% of the total volume of sand in the tank each week, so I think my bacterial population will remain stable...I hope! In fact, my primary concern with adding the cleansed sand back in is that I might impact the bacterial population!

May want to use seachem prime on it just to be sure.
