I know its not "realistic" but was fun to make

Looks great! What paints and sealer are you using? Thanks! @Duane Clark

airbrushed with water based acylics and sealed with a clear epoxy resin called Tarbender by Smooth-On. It is used as one of their aquarium safe products. Used in aquarium displays quite often. This piece is not sealed yet. When sealed it is very glossy out of water but once in the tank of course all the gloss goes away. pretty cool stuff

...and most importantly it's done.

Hope you like it (and sorry for the goofy video style...just playing around).

Trident Octopus
That’s amazing! The details are wild impressive. Like the eye on that octopus!? Nice work! Loved the epic music to go with it!

Nice. Had ideas of using the Free Form Habitat but didn’t know what paints or sealer to use.

How far does the material go? It’s pretty spendy...

Tarbender? it goes a very long way. Its a good value. use a brush to brush it on...dont pour it

If you are talking about the Habitat...it depends on how you apply it. It can get expensive

no, sorry... the habitat black.

I’m assuming you don’t keep the objects solid, rather have an internal armature of material and build on top of that, depending on size of course.

correct. depends on the size and what it is I am making but I create armatures (in a way) that can then be removed when the Habitat is dry.

Sweet. I’m planning a drop-off bowfront, and I’m hoping to use a bunch of this for the drop wall and possibly background.

cool. If you find yourself needing something made, please consider me...would love to create something for you.

Will do, I’ve done a bit of sculpting in my life and enjoy that part of it. Was never very good at the painting and finishing part, so we’ll see how that goes. LOL

Very impressive design and quality!! Really like it.

Hahaha that's cool! As you said not realistic but definitely cool and fun :)

Wow! I would love to have something like this next to my tank. My wife always finds me handmade nic-nacs at craft shows. They all get displayed next to our tank
