I lost my mushroom (not figuratively I think)

my mushroom was unhappy in its location, so I moved it. Apparently, it just really wanted to become a tank-trotter, because it is now missing and I am having difficulty locating it. I assume it's taking a gallop around the tank? How worried should I be - is it a goner or have people experienced this and had it show up later?

They get carried away by current and soon reappear in unexpected location

I've had the same thing happen a few times. They can and do move when they want, and the flow of the tank will blow them into unexpected places. Actually, I had a ricordea detach a few weeks ago and thought it was gone for good, only to find it sitting on the sand in the front of the tank a few days ago, lol.

What inhabitants do you have?, I posted similar about my new bounce mushroom that went missing (I too thought it just went swimming) but after a month of searching I could not find it so I brought another and this 2nd mushroom was half eaten after day one. Peppermint shrimp was the culprit. Luckily my bounce mushroom has made a comeback and recovered

Hm - I know for certain the mushroom let go of its rock (it was already letting go from the first location), but I do also have peppermint shrimp...hopefully it just pops up soon.

What type of mushroom is it?

Yes that was just from my experience. after 2nd mushroom got half eaten I made little frag racks from unused suction cups and placed away from peppermint shrimps territory, mushrooms can shirivel up so small so check all filters thoroughly prior to cleaning , hope you find this guy

Oi, that's what I was worried about. JB's are so temperamental.

I'm sure you have already, but check around the base of all of your rocks, also look for dead spots in the flow every detritus settles. I've lost mushrooms this way. Immediate recovery is about half the time. The other half is split between finding later and never finding it.

Jaw breaker mushroom care

Just got 3 jawbreaker mushrooms. Any tips and care advice, I understand they are a discosoma but I would like to hear from other jawbreaker owners on their experience. Thanks picture I added is the mother polyp which I now own also. She is about 1 3/4". Thanks!
