Two weeks ago I added a small Royal Gramma to my display tank. I had purchased the fish from my LFS 4 weeks ago due to it's beautiful color and personality. after adding him to his new home he immediately sank down and nestled into a cave in the tank. I call this his "lair" because the cave is quite spacious(from a fish's point of view) and whenever I look over I can see his two eyes watching me.Today, he finally started venturing out a lot more instead of just staying cooped up in his lair. what i loved about it is for the passed half an hour he has been swimming around testing out every nook and cranny to see which has the best "fitment" for his new cave. This fish really does have quite the distinctive personality! Anyways I thought i'd share this little story with all of you.

It's a great fish, I almost always have one.

You're right very reclusive initially but once they settle in they become very active.
Mine holds his own against clowns, damsels and a dwarf angel.

There is nothing like the color contrast combo on a Royal Gramma!

Mine stays in the corner of the tank and hides in a cave. Shes beautiful wish she d come out more.
