I absolutely love this hobby. I've been through so many ups and downs with my tanks. There have been times where I spent all of my extra time learning about how to keep coral and doing testing. There have also been times where the only thing I've done is feed the fish to keep them alive and that's it. I can't say it's a love-hate relationship since I've always loved the animals, but there have definitely been times that made me want to pull my hair out.

That brings us to our topic: What are some things that have made you lose your mind and want to give up? On the inverse, what lured you back in and gave you that fire to dig in again?

Nuisance algae, fish diseases and the dreaded dinos can be a real downer. I love fish and all but its definitely the corals that bring me back. The draw for me is the challenge and difficulty of keeping corals alive and thriving. Sometimes i feel like a mad scientist lol

I can concur with the "mad" part of mad scientist. My wife still looks at me like I'm crazy when I go off on my epiphany tangents.

Dinos, Dinos, Dinos

whipped it last year and was out for a couple days and no one fed the tank so nutrients bottomed out and they are back with a vengeance. Will always love the hobby though!!!!!!
