My family loved our anemone. We especially liked the way our Clowns interacted with it. But my water parameters got off and it died. I've fixed the problem, got new lights, an RODI, and have a (manual-old school) dosing system and am now ready for a new anemone. They have gotten so expensive. Are they reef safe? What are some considerations before choosing which type of anemone? Does anyone have a source, or would like to have an anemone go to a good home. Accepting donations to make the aquarium great again! Thx in advance for your thoughts and advice. Since I last posted, you'll notice I've painted the stand and picked up the Kessil lights and Nero 5's.

You should look on your local forums for RBTAs for sale, people often give them away as they split a lot - easiest to keep and generally reef safe with some considerations. I would introduce it first and let it find its spot. Move any corals etc. in its way. If you have slow moving fish like the mandarins it may eat them.

Anemones are basically 80%+ water so keeping water quality good is important, feed them once a week or so and provide lighting and an RBTA should thrive.

Hi! I have an anemone in my mixed reef tank. A lot of people who want anemones in reef tanks use BTA’s just cause they’re pretty, relatively inexpensive, and one of the easiest to maintain. I got my RBTA from my LFS for like $40 but I know that a lot of local reefers probably have them. People in my area sell them pretty cheaply when they get splits, so check the ‘for sale’ forum here in case someone in your area listed one. I feed mine every day some frozen LRS nano frenzy and it’s gotten 100x bubblier. Good luck with your nem!

Thanks for the info, BTW Beautiful tank, and great pictures. The colors and beauty of a reef is a wonder of nature. Nicely captured Footgal .

Ha, don’t expect a cheap bta in the west palm area. They are going for around $80-$100 even from hobbyists. I’d suggest AquaSD.

Thanks for the tip tehmadreefer. That's why I'm asking for donations. Hey " if you don't ask" , hoping someone has an extra.

Lol.
Welp that’s South Florida for ya. Most are out for themselves. There a guy in Jupiter on here that sells rainbows for like $80.

+1 on the AquaSD thing, seen some nice acid wash ones on there... wish I had the space! Thanks for the compliments :) ice cap iPhone lens thingy
