@revhtree - any chance we could see some type of modification/compromise that would allow both categorization and browsing? Seems like there's some type of solution out there that would allow both types of hobbyist to be happy

Not much foot traffic in the new section. You need to do something to direct people better to the new content. I’ve had people respond to my old dry goods sales threads on the same products as in the new. But, zero interaction from the new location. You will see the new forum here: https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/selling-forum-equipment-drygoods.1246/
PLEASE only post dry good and equipment sales threads in their PROPER category. If you are selling as a package deal (one price) then you will see a forum for that. If you have multiple items for sale with different prices please create a thread for each item in the proper forum. If we are missing a category please let us know. Otherwise create your thread in the forum equipment category that best fits your item.
For now you can still post on threads in this forum but you can't create new threads. New sales threads must be in the new forum.

I really dislike the new format - its way too segmented - but yeah - if that's the way we're going , lock the old one.I agree with this... the old forum needs to be clearly flagged as closed.
Ya that was half the reason I would browse the forum.I thought I saw a reply that we would still be able to see it the old way? I filtered to get newest threads as I used to ancestry nothing changed. Is the abilty to see it the old way still a work in progress or is that gone?
I liked seeing newest post see if items I don’t need now but possibly in future were up,for grabs at a goid price I coukdnt pass up now I’d have to go to each seperate thread .
So I'm abandoning this idea. Most of you don't like it and after talking with our market developers we won't need all these sub categories. If you want to search for specific items only then the new market add on will allow you to do that without all the sub forums. Sorry I put you and me through this. :/
No need to be sorry change is good and tough to do. Trying things is only way to see what works and sounds like a new feature for searching specific tems came out if it. I appreciate the effort and being willing to roll back a bit.So I'm abandoning this idea. Definitely being able to tag things for the various categories (lights, pumps, tanks, etc.) would bet great. Then filter like we can for states/countries. It would be slick to see everything from one category when hunting. Otherwise the all-in-one forum allows window shopping and passive market watching.
Appreciate how attentive the mods are here, it's refreshing.
