I made a huge plumbing mistake.

Should I restart, or continue?

Hello, when I plumbed my return side I used cpvc, but used pvc cement. I just found out that you can’t use it on cpvc. How can I take it all apart, to reuse everything with knee pvc.

once it bonds its over get the saw if it doesnt twist apart now, but start NOW andtry and wipe off everything with primer at the glue ends clean if it comes apart ,

It rally should be fine. The pressure that you are flowing through the pipe is nowhere close enough to what you would have in your house plumbing also there is no back pressure so as long as its glued and you cant get it apart IMO it's not going to come apart. If you really want to air to the side that in 20 years it will come apart you can get new fittings and glue with cpvc glue. If it were me I would continue forward.

This is so annoying, because it is literally completely set up. Literally making ro water right now. I will try really hard to pull it apart to see. It has been leak testing for a week, and that side is no problem.

The hypothesis I made, is that cpvc glue would only be needed if the cpvc was used in hot water.

Pvc cement on cpvc pipe is no good.
Cpvc cement on pvc is fine

Nope. If you can’t pull it apart leave it.

This. The pressures in this setup are often less than 1-2 PSI and you could probably do return plumbing assembly using nothing but elmers glue to prevent leaks and rely on friction alone. If the pipe is supported, I wouldn't worry.

Note that CPVC cement is called for in CPVC applications as the cement containers fillers which also must be CPVC to work correctly in that system and not erode in hot water. Since you never see hot water, the solvent action between the two pipes is largely the same and can be gap filled with PVC cement.
