I messed up

Hey All,

I got excited with the WWC Black Friday sale and pulled the trigger on a bunch of corals I have never tried before. I am currently trying to research where in the tank these corals should be placed for optimal light, and flow, as well as how to feed them. My problem is I pulled the trigger before making sure I had enough information to properly care for these guys, because I wanted to grab them before someone else did. For example, I got a WWC Toxic Avenger Chalice. I cant find specifics on where in the tank to start, and I am reading one post that says high light, high flow... followed immediately by low light, medium flow. Never mind my question on whether high light means top of the rock pile or not. Can you guys maybe give me your experience and where you think these guys should go?

My tank is a 134.5 Waterbox with two Kessil 360we lights. I have the Kessil controller, my lights don't exceed 20% intensity right now. Once I add these guys I will restart the light acclimation cycle.

The website says this guy needs high light and high flow. Does that mean top of the rocks, in direct path of a power head?

Noooo idea here. It just looked really cool. The site said medium light, medium flow so I assume middle of the tank.

I'd recommend slowly ramping up your lighting intensity, since you have some SPS added to the mix. Here's what I'd generally recommend for these particular corals. Chalices and pavona are fairly hardy, adaptable, and don't have crazy requirements for lighting. Acros are going to want high flow and light. Since you're still in the process of ramping up lighting intensity, I recommend putting the acro near the top where it gets the most direct light. Birdsnest doesn't quite need the intensity that acros do, but it should still get a decent amount.

Chalice - low light (at least start off low on substrate, then work your way up slowly if desired), low-medium flow

Birdsnest - medium light, medium-high flow

Acro - high light, high flow

pavona - medium light, medium flow
