I am new to the hobby. I have a 55G with HOB protein skimmer & mechanical filter. System has been running for 2 months. I have 60 lbs of live rock & live sand. 4 Fish and a host of crabs & snails. everything is great.......except green algae. System is not in direct sunlight. Blue lights run about 10 hours, whites run about 4. My phosphate level is about 2.....hench the algae. I don't run a sump, so does anyone know of a good solution for a HOB GFO reactor?

Well first off this is a very very new tank it has just been nitrogen cycled it will go through a maturity cycle as well. GHA is almost always in a new tank as well as diatoms depending on how bad it gets you can turn off the lights for a few days. Feed less. and let the tank mature
Welcome by the way

So this tank didn't go through the normal cycle. The Water, Rocks, & Sand all came from the same person.....all from an established system. So i assumed that patience period wouldn't be the same as a normal tank.
