My system is around 250 gallons. I currently have a Bubble Magnus Curve 9, so Im looking for something with the same dimensions (10x10x24). My LFS just got these in. I know the previous models were crappy. My question is for under $600, what do you think (actually I get the biggest one for just under $400 with my discount). If not, any other recommendations?

What is wrong with yours?

I really don't know. There is a loud "air leak" sound coming from the venturi. I changed the air tube, but it's still there and it's really annoying. I have the settings all way up and the water is trapped in the neck and wont rise any further. I took the skimmer out and cleaned it. There was a bunch of baby snails in the prop that I cleaned out, but it's still not performing right (the prop is not broke). I just don't know what else to do.

Run it in vinegar. Also, do you have the silencer hooked up? It could just be the washer in the silencer if it is hooked up.

okay, you do not need a new skimmer, just a silencer. One solution is to have a longer tube that runs to fresh air which will lower the CO2 in your tank. Another is to replace that tube with a piece of tubing.

It's broken at the base on the inside. There's no way to add a tube to it. Im trying to find a new silencer, but I cannot find one for a BM yet.

Not direct replacement, but would work with very little adjustment.

Coral Vue has them as well.

Well I would think the tube might not be an exact fit so an adapter at Home Deport might be needed. Also the screw might be a different size. I will look more for the direct replacement.

Actually I may have found a work around. Try putting cotton swabs in the silencer.
