My tank is missing some blue. I've been thinking of completing the Nemo theme in the tank by acquiring a Dori but I'm scared to put another tang in the tang coz their ich magnet. I've been considering a school of mellow damsels, if there's such a thing. I was leaning towards the Allen's but now, I think I'm leaning towards the Azure's. I saw a few in my LFS 1000g tank and they are very bright. I've read that in some cases, the Allen's can turn just drab blue or sometimes even just turn dark. The Azure's on the other hand always stay bright and small. I really need some blue fish that are easy on the budget and are very hardy.

you guys have any other suggestions I should look at? my LFS is suppose to get some Azure's tomorrow and I plan on pickin' up a group of 5 or 6 depending on if I get a deal on them.

Thanks in advance.

May not be the blue you are looking for but chromis may be worth looking into. If you can find some deep blue ones I think you would be happy.

I was also looking into those but I don't think they're blue enough. :(

I was even considering a school of Helfrich's but not too easy on the budget (although much cheaper now when I bought my first few) and those are more on the purple side.

Thanks for the input though. any suggestion is appreciated. :)

yup. looked at those too. :)

I haven't seen those on any of my LFS and don't really wanna purchase online as shipping will most likely be the same as the price of the fish. yikes!

Free shipping over $225. Plus they refund you if any fish die within 14 days...

How bout Apogon leptacanthus? I've always wanted to do a group of these.

Yeah I have never seen them at a lfs either. I agree about the shipping.

If you order 14 shipping is free lol. Good luck with your search :)

Thank you. :)

I know what you need! 40 yellow tail damsels! That would be one heck of a school! :xd: hahaha, jk

I would check into maybe Anthias as well. I know its not blue, but they would add color for sure. There arent many blue schooling fish at all, chromis are about it, but they die off soooo easy, I havent ever been able to keep them alive to save my life.

LoL. Thanks. ;)

I think I'll try my luck on a few Azure's. All I've been reading is that they are pretty well behaved. Some have kept them for a few years and didn't bother tankmates. We'll see though. Hope I choose some well mannered ones. Wish me luck. :)

the blue reef chromis loose their pretty color and I have 5 orange lined chromis that got huge and are navy blue kinda ugly haha. The ones that have the best color so far are the blue reef chromis. Also have some juvi sunshine chromis which are pretty.
