My reef brethren. Thanks for your time. I found some new polyps in my tank and I'm not sure what they are. I think the first pic is a brown majano anemone. The second could be aptasia? There are about four of em on a small rock. They seemed to come out of nowhere. Two right on the bottom near the sand and two higher up flanking the other two. It's hard to get a better pic. I wanna be sure before I nuke em.

Yes I'm struggling with cyano too. You don't see the other ones they're very small. I might just take out the whole rock and throw it in some boiling water.

Last ones look like some kind of small ball anenome like Corynectis virdis i think. Do they tend to close up when the lights are on

They're open with the lights on. Are they a problem? The piece of rock they're on is really small. I could just get rid of it if it has pests on it.

They dont really do much and to my knowledge dont spread like aptasia or majano but large species will eat small fish

They are ball anemones. They are a danger to small crustaceans such as hermits and very small fish. Most likely they wont bother anything though. I have a bunch and never have seen them bother any of my tank inhabitants.

Ball anemone or glass anemone can and will spread rapidly like aptaisia. There sting is potent enough to bother corals and what you can see open during the day will normally be double at night. They are a pest for sure.

I found those in my tank. I'm choosing to leave them for now. I think they are neat. If they start bothering anything I take care of them.

looks like a mojano, would get rid of it asap b4 they take over ur tank. The red stuff is cyano, you can try to remove as much as you can during water change, they come off pretty easy and you can use red slime remover

I'm talking about the ball tip anemone. The mojo get rid of it.

Just keep an eye out. I used to think the same thing and now, IMO, there more of a pain than the aptaisia.
