hey guys! So I have a standard 10g tank which I need a new light.
I need to keep it under $160 and it must be from amazon, marine depot or bulk reef supply
I am looking at this light but I need it to be able to support sps corals aswell as lps and softies. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00UMXAR5S#Ask
Are there any similar lights that will be in my budget but with control by my phone. This isn’t a must but would be cool.
So here are the requirements that need to be meet
Able to support even the highest light corals
Be less than $160
Be from amazon brs or marine depot or similar site that doesn’t require PayPal.

Thank you for taking your time to read this sorry if it was confusing lol

As far as I know that one is the closest you will get.

Should I use my crappy leds until the end of July when I can get a higher end light. Or will it not be worth it

Most folks say something is bad light but in fact others use them with regular success.

In a ten gallon tank you really don't need that much light.
The light you posted would actually boil the water in that little tank.

lol ok. I think I may find it used on amazon or something and then get an a360 used at the end of July because that’s what I’m using for my next tank and my next tank will be here around Christmas

My first post, be gentle. :) I can attest to what SFF has stated. I have two of the identical lights over my 90 gallon. I run the Blues on 30 percent and the Whites between 5-10 percent and they grow coraline algae and my LPS and Softies without a problem. I guess the nice thing is, they are dimmable (down to 1 percent) and have a timer capable of turning on/off the Blues and Whites independently.

How is the shimmer on it. I really want a sun like shimmer or metal halide or a kessil shimmer

I like the shimmer. It doesn't have that disco ball effect that I've seen on some others. However, it's definitely not anywhere near as good as metal halide (one of things I loved when I ran them) or the kessil.

This is all you really need for a 10 Gallon tank and it will grow SPS, LPS and Softies. $109.49 plus shipping. Just go buy yourself a cheap timer at your local HomeDepot and you're good to go!

Please don't try SPS for at least a year, or you will probably just kill them.

If you go with the initial LED you posted on a 10 gallon, I'd recommend taking the lenses off of the light. It will help blend the colors, and also reduce par which for your tank size would be a good thing.

I pulled the trigger on a Kessil A80 for a 10 gallon with LPS/softies only. I may consider beginner SPS down the road which Kessil claims can support but I think you have to be strategic in coral placement and lighting height from water. The A80 without controller is right at your max budget.
