I recently received a hermit crab, and its supposed to be a scarlet red hermit, but it seems to have a pick/white color, normally they are bright red. this one also seems to have a little bit of fuzziness to him. is he good or bad? Is he sick?

Can't really help you on this one, but the #reefsquad may be able to help. They will need the tank parameters though.

i don't have my record book with me at the moment, but the guy(hermit crab) came in the mail looking like that. He seems to be fine, other than his appearance.

Look at red leg hermit crab (Paguristes digueti)

I am going with Blue Leg @KJ :p

But why is he fuzzy? My other scarlet red are bright and don’t have fuzz on the legs/ claws. This one is dull in color as well. He almost appears tan/ whiteish-pink.

So, the company told me to remove it because it was not a scarlet red hermit crab but a predatory crab. They said they will give me a call once they are 100% on ID the specimen. Thanks for all your inputs.
