I want to paint the stand for my 125 FW REALLY badly...I have the paint and everything...but I can't prep it. Both stripping and/or simply sanding it to paint over the existing paint (I've tried both) are proving very painful (I think I'm developing fibromyalgia...) T-T I also need someone to move the elephant of a 100g off the stand...I'm trying to take it apart but even that is proving incredibly difficult for me. I really need a handy guy friend...or just someone healthy that would help me.

Do you guys know anyone in the inland empire area that might help me out without charging up the wazoo? I love to paint - I can do that - it's just getting this thing prepped that I can't seem to pull off. If I can't find anyone I might just have to use the stand as-is...and it's...horribly...ugly. Especially at this point because it's partially sanded. T-T I'm so frustrated! My hubby and mom can't help - they're even bigger weaklings than I am. My dad and brothers can't help...one's not strong enough (or interested in helping, for that matter...) and Dad and my other brother won't even come close to the house (one's not even allowed to.) My Mom's boyfriend MIGHT be able to help but I don't know if he knows the first thing about painting. He usually works on cars.

I tried to just "push through it" and I can't. I'm in awful pain just from trying to sand a short side and I didn't even get very far T-T

If you guys know anyone...even just a trustworthy relative that could use a few bucks...that could help me out with this...could you let me know? I'm also not averse to calling in a professional if they would charge less than $75 to do it. I hate to do that but I simply cannot handle it myself.

I really can't justufy buying power tools for a single project. I don't do this kind of thing, normally.

I opted to just paint over it as-is. A pro would be laughing at my work but I'm happy with it....
