I have a biocube 32, I’ve had my tank for a month n a week now I cycled it the first week with fritz turbo and pure ammonia well about 5 days ago I looked at my sponge that goes inbetween the pump and in tank media basket, none of this stuff is in my filter floss it’s like it’s growing in the sponge and the filter floss is the first thing the water flows through and there’s no light getting in the back, anyways here’s what it looked like 3 days ago before I cleaned it
This is 3 days after I cleaned it and my pump
It got worse after I cleaned it with rodi water I can’t seem to look up what it is, I use rodi water 0 tds and I’ve been testing 0 ammonia 0 nitrite and 0 nitrate I understand I need to bring my nitrate levels up because I’m having a diatoms problem although it’s like the diatoms are going away sense this red crap started showing up in this sponge, this is what my display looks like now
Here some pics of how bad the diatoms was a week or 2 ago
I got the tank from a fish store and I went in that day not knowing anything about salt water I know I should’ve researched plenty before I got into saltwater instead I just dove straight into the hobby that’s why u already see I have coral, I know I should’ve let my tank stabilize before adding coral however the fish store said it was fine, now I know it wasn’t fine, anyways thanks for any help, posted this on a different forum earlier with no responses.
