anyone on here that can help i have a question, i have 2 BTA and both of them do not bubble up and are not growing i HAVE HAD THEM FOR OVER 7 MONTHS what can be wrong? All of my SPS & LPS and other corals are doing great so i know its not my water
i am running quad T5s just upgraded bulbs to ATI's so maybe that will help and yes i do feed them minced shrimp and mysis shrimp

No easy explanation. Sometimes they bubble, sometimes they don't. Some have mentioned that light source, flow and water quality contribute to bubbling or not. As far as I know, there's no proven cause/effect.

+1

that is exactly right. sometimes they'll bubble, sometimes they won't.
I've had mine for about at least 2 years and have never bubbled very much. they look more like an LTA. About 4 months ago mine split 3 times and one of the off springs do bubble alot more than the rest. Don't know why.
As for growing, is there a noticable flow around them making there tentacles flow? If so, I believe they like some flow going on

mine bubbled a lot when she was small but now that's she's big she doesn't . but did hear once that they bubble when hungry I feed mine once a week.

FWIW, my observations suggest that strong light in the 14-15k range, good water parameters and flow contribute to bubbling. If these conditions do not produce bubbling, appropriate sized weekly to bi-weekly feedings seem to help. But again...nothing seems to be direct cause and effect.

could be they are getting too much light if you just changed the bulbs, but usually if that was the case they would find a new spot. maybe try feeding them a silverside
