I need help with this skimmer

How do I work this I bought this skimmer off of marketplace and the guy showed me it working but it won’t work for me now. Also I can’t find anything online for this skimmer.

Are you testing it in fresh water? Skimmers don't really work in fresh, only salt. Figured I would ask before looking at other options.

Put salt and test, fresh water has a much lower surface tension so it doesnt bubble and foam the same as saltwater. You should also try to find the optimal water level that skimmer should sit in, you should be able to find it online somewhere.

I can’t find this skimmer anywhere so I can’t figure out how to work it I might just buy an all new skimmer, but thank you and I will do that tomorrow to see if it will work.

That looks like a Sealife Systems Sea Storm skimmer.

Okay I just put it in on google and it looks very similar but isn’t the exact one but do you think the sealift skimmer works just like this one?

Actually now that I look at the pipe on the left it comes off so I think it is the skimmer you told me so thank you so much now I can do a bit more research on the skimmer tonight so I cam test and calibrate it tomorrow.

Found the skimmer but still looking for the exact model to find more info. In general it works like most skimmers where the air tube connected to the rio controls the amount of bubbles produced, the pvc where the water comes out can be raised and lowered to increase or decrease the amount of water inside the protein skimmer.

I would test with salt water with the external water level about an inch below that water height mark on the side of the skimmer. Then play with the pvc to raise the water level inside the skimmer about a half inch below the cup and then play with the air line to increase or decrease the bubbles
