I need help

Sumps are better I believe but there are a few things to consider. You will need a larger return pump (maybe). Than you have plumbing to work out. Also something to consider is back flow in case of power outage. These are all easily solved though. You can use the filter section of the AIO for the over flow. Like Josh H on post 8 did. Don't have to go herbie bean type ,lots of option out there & we can all help Ya figure it out. I say go with a sump ! All these things we will help. Good Luck !

For me it’s do I wanna spend all that money to set up a sump for a 30gal aquarium when later down the road when I have room, I can get a 100g + sump and stand for like the same price from somebody else..

I spent all that money now and planned for a future upgrade, my sump was custom built and the sump, reactors and skimmer are all designed around upgrading to a new system in a few years all I need is a larger fuge and I'm set:) So as long as you design it with an upgrade in mind it's not a waste of money, especially when you think sticking with an AIO and wanting a skimmer, that skimmer will have to be replaced when you upgrade unless you decide to not use a skimmer in your upgrade. So there are pros and cons to both sides.

i would add sump if you have the room, added water volume and accessories to match is always good. maintenance is much easier, once you go sump you dont go back lol

Yeah especially with the nuvo 25 lagoon the rear back glass is drillable, and if I wanted to I could do a diy over flow with just pvc and use that rear compartment as a weir.. or even remove the piece creating that rear sump

That is true but I’m not sure if I want to do all that, because of the cost on a 25 gallon a Aquarium

Good point, didn't realize the $100 difference, wow. Yeah I'd just get the AIO and drill it. I mean you do get more display volume with the EXT but I don't think it's worth the extra cost.

I can also just remove that glass panel creating the sump 2

And on top of everything I’ve seen better nuvo 25 lagoon aio’s than like 100gal+ aquariums with top of the line equipment

;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious It's SO true, in this hobby there's a million and 1 ways to go about everything. Equipment is well, equipment. What you do with it is what matters. The one real advantage to smaller AIO's is that it doesn't take them nearly as long to fill in with growth from coral compared to the larger systems. Downside to this is you might want to be upgrading sooner than you think;)

Really? I have the LED version and...

Thank you. The tank is a little over a year old. I honestly think not having a ton of settings (I have AI primes on my other thank) saves me from tinkering with it. So I keep up maintanence and that’s it.
