Right now, my 55 is in front of a 2 outlet receptacle...non-GFCI. I hope to change that part soon but I'm concerned about my lack of skills there...

Into the actual outlets I have my AquaticLife 4bulb HO T5 and a 6 plug power strip. The power strip has: 1) the return pump, 2) skimmer pump, 3) heater, 4+5) 2 Koralias and 6) CFL bulb for the refugium. There's no room for a timer for the fuge, which I would like to add. I'm also adding an ATO so I need another outlet. There are 2 other 2-outlet receptacles on the circuit which are not in use unless I'm mixing salt water (And now hubby has conceded and let me set up a salt mixing station in the garage so I don't have to do it 5 gallons at a time!)

Now, I'm not really feeling like wiring my own set of outlets into the stand or changing the breakers/adding wires and I would like to avoid house fires so... I guess my big questions are: Can I have all of this plugged into the same receptacle using a power strip? and Where does one get an 8+outlet power strip without ports for ethernet cables? I've seen people have them with individual outlet switches too which I didn't know even existed!

You can buy gfci that you plug into wall. Bought one at home depot with 5 outlets
Have power strip plugged into. Reefkeeper with another 4 outlets, and few other things plugged into it.

Thanks for the ideas! I'm pretty sure the circuit is a 20, I'll have to check all the wattages when I get home from work.

I really like the Apex, but it's a little more than I desire functionality wise and definitely outside the price point I have... I like the controllable switches and temp probe, not really interested in the pH probes.
Can I use just the expansion part or do I need the full kit for starters? Like this one? Neptune Systems Energy Bar 8 Expansion Unit (EB8)

I've checked wattages, I have under 600 watts going. Currently running a 300W heater, 4x 54 watt HO T5s, return pump is 24 W, fuge light 23W, 2 Koralias for 9 watts. I'm not sure the wattage on the Coralife Super Skimmer pump, but probably not that much. The internet hasn't helped much in finding out.

So I don't think the circuit is over driven.

If you over drive the circuit it will let you know when something kicks on. Say the heater while the lights are on, or visa versa. It will trip the breaker on you. A plug in GFCI is great if you aren't ready or able to wire in a new outlet.
