i need advice on a tank purchase for my dad around 100 gallons.. i want to gift him a new tank to replace his 30 gallon tank..

its just too small and he needs to upgrade to something nice.. i am looking i guess somewhere between 100 and 150 gallons..

i need suggestions on a complete setup including aquarium stand pump filtration and environmental substrate design.. maybe something with a sandy bottom if that makes sense for a fresh water environment..

i have looked into red sea reefer tanks and they are beautiful but kind of expensive.. some also suggested the marineland tank at pet smart thats 75 gallons and selling for around 349 on sale but i have read pet smart tanks arent that great..

some complain they arent sealed correctly and the silicone is coming off causing the tank to leak and fail... the stand it come with isnt that impressive to me but i guess it can be a very cost economic tank though on the smaller side of 75 gallons..

looking to do this pretty quickly so any advice would be helpful... i really like that red sea tank but its a little pricey and doesnt include the pump and filtration i dont think...

There are the Red Sea ‘Max’ tanks which are complete systems including pumps etc., but there even more expensive

Ive got an S650 Max

Getting into anything in that range is going to be expensive. Not to mention almost everything in this hobby is back ordered right now. From what I understand most tanks are a month or 2 waiting list. Maybe instead give your dad a photo of the intended tank. Sit down with him and go through the planning phase and setup. Coming from a father who has one also, sometimes the best gift is just time spent. Your dad will love the tank. He'll remember and cherish the time you spend building it though.
