I need some HELP asap..

Update:

I've got my nitrates down quite a bit using the No3po4x. Using the recommended dose clouded my water a bit so I cut the dose down. Last test showed 20ppm down from 50+ppm about a week ago. So it's defiantly working. it puts off an odd smell. Just FYI. Reminds me of Elmers glue for some reason. Also my phosphates are still coming up zero with 2 different tests.

But now I think I have a much more serious problem AEFW. I'll post some pics and you guys tell me what you think. I took two corals out and dipped them in bayer and I couldn't find the worms but a local guy around here says he's 99% sure that I have these and he can tell by the way my corals flesh has been eaten. Please tell me your guys thoughts on this.

This last picture shows what I blew off with the turkey Baster during the Bayer dip. This local guy is saying the little white spots in the cup are small AEFW. The 2 bigger things in the cup are: one is a rock and the other is a little white starfish. You'll probably have to zoom in the see the white dots he's claiming as the worms

Looking on past pages looks like quite a bit has changed the past couple weeks. The asap in the title throws up a red flag for me as nothing should be asap if at all possible.

Having PO4 already very low and then start carbon dosing and increasing lighting to me may be the likely cause. Hindsight of course but I would have tried to bring up the phosphates first before the carbon dosing or use something that targets mainly nitrates (like a sulfer denitrator) first before carbon dosing.

I'm sorry I dont have an answer for what to do now or if those are AEFW as I can't tell by the pictures.

If it was me I would bring up the phosphates. And reduce lighting slightly. But I could be wrong.

pull a frag out and use a mgnifing glass and double check the bug id. those might just be starving corals. I hope.

Thanks, That' what i'll do tonight. I pull another coral and dip and then see what comes off and look at it with a magnifying glass. (i hope so too)

I'm pretty sure i still have some form of phosphates in there. Because i'm still having to clean the glass every 3 days or so. Also my light are already way down. I'm running an acclimation period right now with them. So they are somewhere around 25%.

Yeah, don't depend on my lighting advice I'm clueless in regards to that. Mine are controlled by my apex's seasonal chart and I just let them do their thing.

FWIW, I have to scrape my glass at least every other day. My nitrates are under 5 and phosphates around .03.

But I also see phosphates swing daily and if you are driving down nitrates with carbon dosing you are sure to hit extreme low phosphate levels. I prefer to use carbon dosing to maintain lower nutrients or reduce slightly elevated levels rather then drive down very high to extreme levels. It's not a very balanced approach especially when your nutrients are already so very out of whack with each other.

Here is some updated pics of a coral I took out to get a closer look. I couldn't spot anything with the magnifying glass. Tell me what you guys think. Or if you can see anything. I will also post another pic of the stuff I blew off the coral.

These are markings of a giant flatworm. Cut the bottom off the frag and check. Dip in iodine if you can get it otherwise use a coral dip. The bottom circle has ben monged on recently. The top photo i circled looks like rtn with no algae present. So the pest might still be under, or near the frag itself. Just check for eggs on everything to get some piece if mind, other then being uncertain of whats going on. Is this going on with everything else?

Is that a cyphastrea on yesterdays post? . Might also be a bacteria strain that also benefited from the nopox dosing and started to thrive. Frag off all dead tissue and dip with an antiseptic or the common stnrtn medicine dips @scfurse77

I was thinking a bad form of vibrio if it's not AEFW or parameter related.

Unfortunately this has been going on for a month or so. I just started dosing NOPOX last week. And yes it's affecting pretty much all my corals and mainly SPS. Thanks @Sabellafella any other help would be greatly appreciated.

Neither sounds good. But vibrio would affect fish and coral right? Cause I have had some fish deaths as well. Even though I'm not really sure what vibrio is how I got it and how to get rid of it.

I was taking some pictures of my tank with the lights out and I'll post those along with this snail looking thing I pulled off the rock. Not sure what it is???

As you can see my coral is getting jacked up by something.
