I am having trouble deciding which tank to get. Ideally I want a relatively shallow cube, but cube none the less. Also, originally wanted to keep it in the 50-60 gallon range.

Originally I wanted the IM Fusion 50 Lagoon, but am wondering if the AIO configuration could be limiting as far as stability and obviously overall volume.

I like the look of the Red Sea Reefer series but am not a fan of the shallow front to back dimensions.

Then, I looked into the CAD 70g Artisan. This would probably be my pick as far as dimensions, gallons, overall look. But! The price!

My LFS suggested a Marineland rimless 60. It's 24x24x24 which doesn't really do it for me aesthetically but is right on size wise.

So, I looked into the 93 rimless from Marineland. 30x30x24 Still the 24" depth but less annoying with the longer length and width dimensions. But, we're getting up there in gallons and I don't know if I want to go that big.

Essentially, it's right now between the CAD and the 93 rimless but quite a price difference there.

The plan would be to have this fairly sps dominant.

I'm sure I'm leaving out tidbits that would be helpful but given those options I just don't know what to do.

Anyone? I just need more insight, views, opinions from people that might have considered some of the same or similar tanks. Pros/cons I'm missing.

Awesome game plan.
Did you look into the 60 cube 24x24x24 with a ghost overflow.

I have not, but that's an intriguing idea. Reduce the space lost by the traditional corner overflow.

Maybe I'm too hard on the aesthetics of the 60 cube. But I'm just not sure.

Why not just get yourself a custom tank? My Visio shallow cube was relatively cheap and great craftsmanship, has some super thick glass for the size. I went with ghost overflow to maximize display space.

I could consider that, but I really want to keep the whole process simple, which is why I'm looking mainly at the options I listed.

I haven't seen a 93 rimless in person, maybe I will need to create it at home tonight just to give myself a good visual on the actual size of it.

I have the 70G Artisan II. It's a great tank, well made and solid. The CS isn't great at CL but their systems are well made.
