Hi all! I need some advice on sticking my tank. I am about 6-7 months into the hobby so having them be a hardy lot is necessary.
I have a 75 gallon tank and had dreams of a mixed reef in the long run. I have 2 coral frags that are struggling now (Zoa and Duncan) so I am not going to be adding any more coral until I get a better handle on what I need in that area.
So this gives me more options for fish since I don’t have any reef to worry about.

Current stock:
2 clownfish that have claimed a little cave so they don’t go anywhere else in the tank.
2 Pajama Cardinals- they each take a corner and that’s about it.
1 diamond sand sifting goby
Crabs and snails

I had 2 bi-color blennies go missing at some point which i have yet to find a cause for or evidence of. For all I know they are somewhere in a rock and I will see them someday again.

But my fish are boring, they don’t swim in this large tank. There is no color or pop in the tank.

So give me some ideas- fish with personality, color, interesting swimming..all for a newbie :)

Thank you!

A Midas blenny would give you some color size and personality.
A springer damsel, royal gramma, six or four line wrasse are also all common and easy fish with color.

If you want movement, get a group of dartfish(blue, zebra, green), anthias( active, but need multiple feedings per day), royal gramna, rabbitfish( foxface, magnificent, one spot), assessors, tang( ctenochaetus), firefish, fairy or flasher wrasse, they’re so many fish to add to your tank, but there’s an order to add them, least aggressive first, then so on. When you do add them, just watch the clowns

I second the Midas blenny. Gorgeous blue eyes and striking yellow. They’re a great add especially in reef tanks. Also look up mystery wrasse or any reef safe wrasse. (Mystery are just my favorite lol) choose wisely though most of the time you can only get away with one wrasse per tank.
