So I have a 65g FOWLR. Currently I have...

- Ocellaris Clown
- Diamond Goby
- Bangaii Cardinal
- Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
- Bloodred fire shrimp
- Assorted snails/hermits

I am looking for a fish that is more peaceful and obviously compatible with all of the above. I want a colorful fish that really takes advantage of the whole water column. Any suggestions?

I want to say a yellow tang but in a 65g thats iffy. I would go with a wrasse, leopard or melanurus but i dont know how it would do with the shrimp. Should be fine if you feed enough

I'd go with some wrasses. Cirrhilabrus (Fairies); Paracheilinus (Flashers) or Macropharyngodon (Leopards) species they will not mess with your inverts are colorful and cruise in all parts of the water column. Leopards do require fine sandy bottom, as they bury themselves for sleep each evening or if they get scared.

Yea, I have been researching Fairies and Flashers. I was thinking maybe a Mccoskers or Carpenters.

I highly recommend leopard wrasses, they're great and colorful fish. Here's a pic of my male maleagris leopard wrasse. There are all kinds of leopard wrasses, my favorites are the maleagris, chaoti, ornate, and the potters leopard wrasse. Flashers are also very nice fish, I love the royal flasher. I would stay away from Coris wrasses though, most get big, aggressive, and will eat invertebrates.

I just got a carpenter wrasse pair. the fairy and flasher wrasses would be a great for your size tank. lots of swimming, color, and personality.

Do you have a cover of some sort on your tank? wrasses are great fish, but are also known as jumpers; specifically the flashers and fairies. My tank is covered with clear netting.

Wow leopard wrasses are really attractive. I'm reading that they are very difficult to keep though =/. Yes, I do have a cover for my tank.

sometimes getting them to eat can be a challenge, may take a lot of effort and different types of food. but once they begin eating, they are no more difficult than most any other fish; at least that has been my experience.

I would definitely go with a wrasse too! Or, if you're wanting another suggestion maybe a dwarf angelfish? Those are really beautiful too.
