Some of you may remember the Ritteri I got several months ago and the anemone has been doing very well. Several weeks ago it moved to the back glass and moved to the top of the tank with literally no more than 5% of my tank lighting contacting it. It is very dark where it has been. I was hoping it would move on it's on but now I think I am going to have to help it along.

The anemone is bleaching out and losing a lot of color. I have kept it fed good, it's tentacles are still very sticky, and the mouth is closed and is just fine. But I think if i don't get it into the light it will not end well.

What type of tips can you give me for moving it? It's very big!

Thanks.

I would try the ice cube trick first. Some people have had success very and I mean very gently scraping the foot with a credit card to nudge it along. You can also try blasting it with flow.

Good luck!!

I've had pretty good success just getting my finger under the base and slowly but surely peeling it off. You really have to be gentle and I'll occasionally take breaks. Off the glass it should be fairly quick. A little harder if they are attached to rock but I've done that as well. I've probably had to do it about 20 times over the years with various anemones and have never damaged the base.

Ok thanks guys I will give it a shot!

Well got it moved pretty easily and wow in the light I can see it has lost a ton of color. Looks white!
