I added a some high dollar SPS to my DT from 3 different vendors last week. More than I thought I’d ever spend on coral. I’ve lost a lot of SPS in Qt so I took a chance because of the high cost involved. Well I got ich and flukes. Once again I’ve had to take out all rock to catch and treat all fish. Here comes a coral only tank for 77 days. I just added my fully QT fish in December after velvet wiped me out. God I love this hobby! Lol.

Just curious, what caused the outbreak? Are you thinking it had something to do with the new SPS? Sorry for being a noob.

It was absolutely the new corals added. Everything up to that point had been through quarantine. You only learn by asking. Or like me ... the hard way sometimes...lol.

They definitely can. Even snails. They just hitch a ride. There’s some great info in the fish treatment /disease forums. I have a lot tanks for fish QT. One for coral also but it hasn’t done well with SPS. LPS and softies QT fine for me.
