Hey guys, so I oversized my return pumps on my tank and just found a negative side effect. I have 2x varios6 return pumps each running at 20%. My youngest got a hold of the controller and cranked one up to 100%. Fortunately I caught him before water ended up on the floor, but I am pretty sure my overflow which is bean animal would not have been able to handle 1 or 2 of the pumps running at 100%.

What are my options here? I was thinking of putting gate valves on each return line, but read that's not a good strategy. I also thought about getting an apex system to control everything, but I'm not sure if that would override the varios6 controllers? Really, my kids shouldn't be able to get to my control board again, but I'd like to set things up for "just in case"

Thanks ahead

Switching to appropriately sized pumps will save you money and aggravation in the long run. If it can go wrong, it will! Just a question of time.
