I picked up a sharknose goby due to them being small and friendly tank mates that can clean parasites off of my fish. My other fish are 2 clown fish and 1 azure damsel which all get along great. The goby though attacks the others. Full speed 6 inch lunges and occasionally makes the other fish cower in the sand. I was told that's a way for them to be submissive but why would the 1 inch long tiny fish that is supposed to not be aggressive spend an hour a day picking on all 3 of the other fish. It's not territory as he will chase them around the tank. Should I exchange him or just let it be for now since he hasn't singled one out?

In my experience, every fish's temperament can be different from the norm. I would keep an eye on him for now and see if this behavior subsides. Most places don't normally take fish back, do you know for sure your source will do that for you? Good luck!
