I found what I thought was a gorilla crab during feeding time in my tank today. I decided to be proactive and remove the rock he was on and get him out of there. This rock was also the one that had my OG Bounce on it. When I removed the rock I was flipping it around trying to find the crab. After a minute or so, I got worried about my prized coral and decided to remove it from the rock and put it back in the tank to keep it safe. This was a mistake… as I popped it off of the rock, the force slammed it into the palm of my hand, popping the bubbles I got the crab and I am going to place the OG back on the rock.

Has anyone else had experience with this? Do you know if they will grow back? Here are some before and after pictures…. Only I could be the one do something so bone headed

I can’t say much on the coral (I’m not a coral expert), but the crab looks awfully similar to a red Mithrax crab, Mithrax ruber (the emerald crab belongs to the same genus). Could we get a picture of it under flashlight?

Just make sure it doesn't get blown by flow and ends up lost in the rockwork
